Brandywine™ viburnum is a compact, deciduous shrub known for its striking multi-colored berries, glossy foliage, and vibrant fall color.
Description and Appearance
Brandywine™ viburnum is a rounded, upright, deciduous shrub that typically grows 5–6 feet tall and wide in cultivation. It features glossy, dark green leaves that may turn deep maroon to wine-red in autumn, providing excellent seasonal interest. In early to mid-summer, the shrub produces flat clusters of creamy white, aromatic flowers, which are attractive to pollinators. These flowers are followed by large clusters of berries that ripen from green to vivid pink and blue, often with both colors appearing on the same cluster, creating a jewel-like display. The berries are edible but highly acidic and are favored by birds, making the plant a wildlife-friendly choice.
