Strobilanthes Dyerianus, Persian Shield

Strobilanthes Dyerianus, commonly known as Persian Shield, is a tropical plant. It is celebrated for its iridescent purple foliage and is often grown as an annual bedding plant or houseplant. The plant prefers warm, humid conditions and is best grown in full sun to part shade. It thrives in organically rich, medium moisture, well-drained soils and requires consistent moisture. The foliage color is best displayed in part shade, while full sun is suitable in cooler summer climates. Persian Shield can be overwintered indoors in a bright sunny room, but the quality of the foliage color may decline as the plant ages.
