Clematis ‘Boulevard Kitty’ is a compact, free-flowering, deciduous climbing vine in the Boulevard® series, valued for its large, showy blooms and low maintenance care.
Appearance & Bloom
It produces masses of near-white star-shaped flowers with greenish-purple or burgundy-tipped anthers, blooming nonstop from late spring through early to mid-fall. The flowers are large for a clematis, often appearing almost white, and are a striking feature in mixed planters or as an accent plant. The foliage is dark to mid-green, compound, and remains green throughout the season.
Size & Habit
Mature height is typically 3–4 feet, with a spread of about 24–36 inches. It has a twining, trailing habit, making it suitable for fences, trellises, walls, patios, or containers. Its ultra-compact form makes it ideal for small spaces, containers, or low hedges.
Hardiness & Zones
Hardy in USDA zones 4-9. It is deciduous, dying back to the crown in winter and regrowing from the base in spring.
Landscape Use
Accent plant or conversation piece
Container planting for patios or decks
Climbing vine on fences, trellises, or walls
Hummingbird attractor due to its nectar
Pruning & Care
blooms on new wood. Prune in late winter or early spring to 6–8 inches above the ground, cutting just above developing buds to maintain a compact shape Plant Addicts. No deadheading is needed; blooms continue on new growth. It thrives in well-drained, cool, rich soil, with roots shaded to protect them.
