Lysimachia vulgaris, commonly known as yellow loosestrife or garden loosestrife, is a perennial herbaceous plant native to Eurasia and North Africa. It typically grows to a height of 50–150 cm and features yellow flowers that bloom from June to August. The plant is characterized by its creeping rhizomes, opposite or whorled leaves, and cup-shaped flowers with five yellow petals. It thrives in moist habitats such as wetlands, fens, and along riverbanks, and is often found in gardens due to its ornamental value.
