The baby toes succulent (Fenestraria rhopalophylla) is a small, upright succulent characterized by its club-shaped leaves that resemble tiny digits. These leaves feature translucent windows at the tips, allowing light to penetrate for photosynthesis even when the plant is mostly buried in the soil. Native to the desert regions of Namibia and South Africa, this succulent thrives in dry, sandy conditions and can adapt to various light levels, preferring bright indirect light. It is drought-tolerant and requires a "soak and dry" watering method, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings to prevent root rot.
