Clematis 'Elsa Spath'

Clematis 'Elsa Spath' is a variety of clematis that produces large, 6-8 inch wide, rich purple flowers with frosted white at the center of the petals. It blooms three times from mid-spring to fall. Raised in Argentina, it has received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit. The flowers are single purple-blue and later in the season produce a smaller flower3. The plant has green deciduous foliage and does not develop fall color.
